Day-by-day itinerary
Early departure from Petersburg by private minivan (~4 h). En route: stop at Ahvenkoski waterfall (filming location of 'The Dawns Here Are Quiet'). Lunch in Sortavala (salmon soup, halal alternative). Afternoon: walk through old Sortavala (Finnish architecture, waterfront). Check-in at boutique hotel on Ladoga shore. Dinner.
