We agree the number of night outings and a backup program in advance. The winter road to Teriberka can close, which may mean staying closer to Murmansk instead of reaching the coast.
Dress in layers: thermal base layers, a warm middle layer, winter outerwear, insulated boots, a hat and mittens. Check what can be rented for your dates and what you need to bring.
Dining choices outside the city are limited. We discuss menus and snacks before travel. If suitable halal meals are unavailable, we propose fish or vegetarian dishes, ask about ingredients and agree the choice with you.
For photography, bring a tripod and spare battery. A phone’s night mode may help, but the camera image can differ from the aurora visible to your eyes.
